THE RIGHT FINISH FOR THE RIGHT BUILDING
Modern plastering,
considered properly.
Every surface needs the right preparation and a suitable system. We consider the background, condition and intended finish before recommending an approach for the work.
For older and traditionally constructed buildings, a breathable lime-based finish may be more appropriate than gypsum. We offer lime plastering separately for projects where traditional materials and building compatibility matter.

HOW WE APPROACH THE WORK
A good finish
starts before the plaster.
01Assess the surfaces
We look at the background, existing condition, access and the finish you're looking to achieve.
02Prepare properly
Loose material, unsuitable coatings and surface issues are considered before the plastering or rendering begins.
03Choose the right system
Materials and application are selected to suit the substrate, location and specification of the project.
04Apply and finish
We carry out the agreed work with care, leaving the surface ready for the next stage once appropriately dried and cured.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Plastering & rendering
explained.
What is the difference between gypsum plaster and lime plaster?
Gypsum plaster is commonly used for modern internal plastering and provides a smooth finish. Lime plaster is a different, traditional material often better suited to older solid-wall buildings that need more breathable construction. The right choice depends on the building and background.
Can you skim over existing plaster?
Sometimes. The existing surface needs to be sound, suitably prepared and compatible with the proposed finish. Loose, damp or failing backgrounds may need further work before skimming is appropriate.
Do you install K-Rend?
We undertake external rendering, including K-Rend systems where specified and suitable for the substrate. The precise system and preparation requirements are assessed for each project.
How long does new plaster take to dry?
Drying time varies with thickness, ventilation, temperature and humidity. New plaster should be allowed to dry thoroughly before decorating, and the manufacturer's guidance for the chosen materials should be followed.
Can you plaster one room or a whole property?
Yes. We consider individual rooms as well as plastering and rendering within larger renovation, extension and new-build projects.
