Enriched Building Services is an independent building business based in Launceston. At present, the business is led personally by its founder, Richard, who remains directly involved in the work, the planning and the relationship with each customer.
That means you deal with the person responsible for your project from the first conversation through to the finished work. We believe in being approachable, clear about what is involved and taking pride in the details that make a job feel properly finished.

THE STORY BEHIND EBS
Built from practical experience.
Driven by a love of the trade.
Before establishing Enriched Building Services, Richard worked in e-commerce project management. A change in direction brought him back to the building trade, starting out as a labourer and learning the realities of working on site.
Alongside hands-on experience, he committed to further training through night school and site assessments, eventually gaining a City & Guilds qualification in Carpentry.
Carpentry gave him a broad understanding of how the different stages of a build fit together: from the structure and first fix through to doors, skirting, finishes and the details that bring a room together. That wider understanding continues to shape the way EBS approaches building projects.

We take on work that matches our experience and competence. Where a project needs a specialist trade or qualification we don't hold, we arrange for suitable subcontractors to carry out that part.

Good preparation, sound workmanship and considered finishing matter. We aim to leave work properly completed, tidy and built to serve its purpose.

We discuss the scope, expectations and practicalities before work starts, and keep customers informed if circumstances change.

Specialist skills when needed.
Not every building project can, or should, be completed by one person. Some work requires specialist training, certification, equipment or experience. Rather than claiming to do everything ourselves, Enriched Building Services works with trusted subcontract trades where the project calls for skills outside our own.
This can include specialist plumbing, electrical and other trade work. The relevant work is undertaken by appropriately qualified professionals, with responsibilities and the scope of each trade agreed as part of the project.
It allows us to offer a more joined-up service while being open about who is carrying out each part of the job.

The ambition is to grow Enriched Building Services into a dependable local building company with a small, carefully chosen group of skilled tradespeople.
As the business develops, the aim is to bring specific trades and skills into the business where there is a consistent need for them, while continuing to work alongside trusted specialists for other parts of a project.
Growth should never come at the expense of the personal service that the business is built around. The intention is to build a team gradually, maintain close involvement in projects and keep the same standards of communication and workmanship.
